Limpopo Softball Association has received a cash injection of a whopping R40000 from leading liquor company Brandhouse. The money will be used to sponsor LSA's Windhoek Draught Top 8 tournament.

Brandhouse announced the sponsorship at a glittering function at their offices in Polokwane on Tuesday night.

Pat "Fingers" Moyaha, Brandhouse's Limpopo regional sales manager, made a commitment that though the sponsorship is on a one-year pilot contract, it is subject to renewal.

"We believe that the reputation and mass following that softball enjoys is as a result of the capable leadership it has. We think the marriage between LSA and Windhoek Draught will last as long as softball is played in Limpopo," Moyaha said

Accepting the sponsorship, LSA president Mashilo Matsetela assured Brandhouse they will do their level best to ensure that the sponsor's expectations are met.

"As LSA we wish to enter into a long-term relationship with the company because we are already in this game together," he said.

Guillo Marapyane, Softball South Africa's president, also congratulated LSA for securing the sponsorship.

"LSA remains the most competitive affiliate of the SSA and we wish that their negotiating skills could spread to other provinces," said Marapyane.

The quarterfinals will be played on November 30 at Mahwelereng diamonds, while the semifinals and final will be staged at Seshego diamonds on December 20.

The draw: Mahwelereng Spikes v Seshego Raiders; Seleteng Giant Killers v Kalkspruit Red Scorpions; Mamaolo Rebels v Lebowakgomo Wildbeasts and Moletlane Texas v Seshego Cannons.

l The league programme will continue at Sebayeng Sharks diamonds on Sunday.
