A top SABC DJ, who was suspended last week for assaulting his colleague and lover after she bust him in the arms of another colleague, has been forgiven.

Dumisane "Madumane" Simelane and his producer, Bheki Sehlabela, brought the SABC into disrepute, according to a disciplinary hearing, when they caused a fight in which four Ligwalagwala FM employees exchanged blows at a hip-hop concert in the bush in Nelspruit, Mpumalanga.

Simelane, the breakfast show presenter, was accused of starting the fight after he was caught smooching Rethabile Dibakoane, the station manager's secretary.

He was busted by Buhle Ndlovu, who hosts Midnight Radio on the station and who is the mother of their baby.

Dibakoane followed Ndlovu trying to apologise, but the DJ threatened to rearrange her facial features. Simelane lost it.

Witnesses say that as he was assaulting ex-lover Ndlovu, DJ Gugu Nyirenda came flying in and tried to separate them.

Nyirenda tried to escort the whimpering Ndlovu to a car but Sehlabela stepped in and landed a couple of klaps on Nyirenda's face. She fell into the mud.

But the SABC has forgiven them and they are back at work .
