Seshego Cannons' dismal performance continued - they are still to secure their first points of the season - during the Limpopo Softball Association (LSA's) LimDev Super League matches at Seleteng Giant Killers diamonds on Sunday.

Cannons were exposed by the depleted University of Limpopo (UL) team that walloped them 7-2 in the opening match.

The varsity side had to use their reserve team because most of their key players were engaged in their final year examinations.

The reserves also did the trick against Seshego Raiders. The Seshego lads thrashed them 7-0 in another match.

Cannons are still to taste victory after they failed in seven matches, scoring 27 runs at an average of four runs per match, and conceding 114.

Hlakano Dodgers hammered the final nail in Cannons' coffin with a 7-5 whipping.

Defending champions Killers beat Kalkspruit Red Scorpions 12-4 and Mamaolo Rebels 12-0 on their way to the top spot.

Meanwhile, LSA will announce a sponsorship believed to be worth more than R40 000 for the Top 8 tournament tonight in Polokwane.

The sponsorship is from a leading liquor trading company, and will end a drought of competitions. The e federation went without a special contest competition last season.

Results

Killers 12, Scorpions 4; UL 7, Cannons 2; Scorpions 8, Rebels 1; Dodgers 7, Cannons 5; Killers 12, Rebels 0; UL 7, Raiders 0
