Fireworks are expected today when the SABC board presents its yearly report to the parliamentary portfolio committee on communication.

Yesterday ANC parliamentary spokesman Khotso Khumalo accused the board of "meddling with the everyday administration of the SABC leading to the mismanagement of the public broadcaster".

Khumalo said the board would have to explain why it had given prominence to the two-day national convention organised by the Congress of the People and given only 10 minutes to a Jacob Zuma rally in Soweto. He said the board would also have to answer why there was "too much sex and violence on TV".

Meanwhile, SABC board member Khanyisile Mkonza has accused the portfolio committee of political interference.
