Right to dignity

The Mogale City municipality management must stop playing games over the case of four women employees who have laid complaints of sexual harassment against their boss.

Almost two weeks after they submitted statements to the council, union and police no action has been taken.

This is disturbing for a municipality that promises quality service delivery and guarantees protection to women employees against any kind of abuse.

Instead of probing the allegations the council has accused the women of relating their ordeal to the media.

Sexual harassment is a serious violation of a person's right to dignity and privacy.

This is a message that must be unequivocally reinforced in society.
