Joy Norma Makhotso Mabitsela (née Ngwekazi) was fondly known as Tororosi to those who knew and loved her.

Joy Norma Makhotso Mabitsela (née Ngwekazi) was fondly known as Tororosi to those who knew and loved her.

She was the fifth child of the late Nathan and Winnie Ngwekazi and was born on April 27 1939 in Pimville, Soweto.

She began her primary schooling at St Peter Claver in Pimville and moved to St John's and then the Holy Cross in Orlando East.

Her high school years were spent at Diocesan College in Pietersburg, where she completed her Junior Certificate.

She commenced her working career at the Fiorenza Bag Factory in Johannesburg. She later joined A&D Spitz as a salesperson.

In 1984 she decided to try her hand at business and ventured into self-employment, retailing beverages and ice.

She met her life partner, Peter Mabitsela, in 1964 and they were married in 1967. Their marriage was blessed with a daughter, Refiloe. They celebrated their 41st wedding anniversary on October 25 2008.

She was a diligent and dedicated member of the Anglican Church and an active member of the Anglican Women's Fellowship. She was also a chorister with the St James' Anglican Church choir. Her love for music was immense.

She was very sociable and was known for her great sense of humour. She was a caring and loving person and extremely passionate about her family. She truly enjoyed the life she was blessed with.

She passed away on November 6 2008. She leaves behind her husband, daughter and two granddaughters.
