The US and others have learnt from SA

I'm deeply disturbed by the letters and comments in the South African media that we have a lot to learn from the US.

We have achieved what the US never did. Didn't we set the trend of long voting queues in 1994? Didn't South Africans peacefully accept the recall of Thabo Mbeki? Didn't we usher in freedom without bloodshed? And what about our 50 percent women in government?

Racism is still a burning issue in the US. We are among the best and other nations can learn from us. Americans themselves have said that their victory made them feel the way we felt in 1994.
