Moroka Swallows are entertaining hopes of flying away with the league title this season, and they remain among the championship contenders after seven matches.

But their title credentials will be scrutinised by high fliers Lamontville Golden Arrows at Olympia Park Stadium in Rustenburg on Sunday. This potential Absa Premiership thriller kicks off at 3.30pm.

The Beautiful Birds will need to have stamina and poise if they harbour hopes of overcoming Abafana Bes'thende.

Manqoba Mngqithi's side can beat any opponent with swagger, at home or on the road. Ask Kaizer Chiefs and Ajax Cape Town. Arrows thumped Amakhosi 4-1 in a cup match away and blasted Ajax 4-0 at home on Wednesday.

Swallows are also upbeat after their 2-1 win over the stubborn Platinum Stars in midweek.

First-choice goalie Greg Etafia is expected to undergo a late fitness test, with Tyron Damons waiting in the wings .

David Radebe is likely to keep Arrows defenders busy with his speed, but the visitors have Zambian defender Joseph Musonda back from suspension to fortify this department.

Swallows' defenders should have a problem of their own to deal with in the league's joint top scorer Richard Henyekane, who netted a hat trick against Ajax.

Ajax tackle Free State Stars at Athlone Stadium tomorrow at 8pm.

Platinum Stars travel to Pietermaritzburg on Sunday to face Maritzburg United at Woodburn Stadium (3.30pm).
