The untimely death of Finkinyana Brunhilde Mashego has shocked the community of Mohlakeng, Randfontein, her birthplace.
Finky, as she was popularly known, was all things to all people: a comforter in times of grief, a jester when tension set in and a giver in times of need.
Finky was always ready to forgive and forget. She was the typical Christian.
Finkinyana was born on February 4 1970. She started her schooling at Usisya in Blantyre, Malawi, but relocated to her birthplace to complete her schooling at Mohlakeng Primary School. She completed her matric at Phahama High School.
She started her career at Mohlakeng Clinic as a primary health care worker, but later took up employment as a cashier at the Mohlakeng local municipality until she was recalled to the Elysian Fields.
Mashego will be buried at Greenhills Cemetery tomorrow at 11am.
A service will be held at her home at 7.45am and the cortege will proceed to the local Anglican Church at 8.30am.
She is survived by her husband, Winston, three children - O'Brian, Memory and Gomolemo - her mother, father and two sisters.
