Zuma must tackle Zille in debate

Jacob Zuma's recent public utterances - that the DA has no policies - cannot be left unchallenged, especially not in light of the fact that the DA has released four policy documents this year alone.

Jacob Zuma's recent public utterances - that the DA has no policies - cannot be left unchallenged, especially not in light of the fact that the DA has released four policy documents this year alone.

We view this as a blatant lie and a further indication of his unsuitability for office.

It is an attempt by Zuma to deflect attention from the fact that the DA does in fact have well-developed policies.

These policies facilitate the development of an open opportunity society, rather than the closed patronage model pursued by the ANC - an approach that is largely responsible for the spiral of poverty South African's face.

So the DA Youth supports Helen Zille's challenge to the SABC to host a policy debate between herself and Jacob Zuma, so that he can be rightly informed about DA policies and so that he can clarify exactly which ANC policies he intends to support.

Tthe ANC president has contradicted himself on several occasions on policy positions, the most recent being his assurance that economic policy will not change despite his SACP associates stating otherwise.

If Zuma refuses to engage with the DA, we can see no reason for it other than his being aware of his unacceptable policy flip-flopping.
