Charismatic international singer Kelly Rowland is among the stars who will perform at the MTV Africa Music Awards.

The prestigious awards will take place on November 22 at the Velodrome in Abuja, Nigeria.

Born in Georgia, US, 27 years ago, Rowland, music composer, dancer and actress, will share the stage with South African rock group Cassette and Nigerian soul diva, Asa.

Rowland, a former member of Destiny's Child, is turning Africa into her home ground.

She was in South Africa recently for thesecond time and performed for an enthusiastic crowd at the Sun City Superbowl.

Having produced hit albums and won Grammy awards, Rowland continues to delight with her solo work. She enjoyed major successes with the albums Simply Deep and Ms Kelly Deluxe.

After a series of commercially successful releases with Destiny's Child and world famous rapper Nelly, she released her pop-rock solo album Simply Deep in 2002.

The album sold more than two million copies worldwide. After the formal disbanding of Destiny's Child in 2005, Rowland made a second album, Ms Kelly Deluxe, last year.

She has also gained fame for roles in film and television productions, including The Seat Filler, Freddy vs Jason, The Hughleys and Girlfriends.

Dynamic South African rock outfit Cassette combines catchy pop-rock with outrageous live music.

Asa, who is a contender for both the Best Female MTV Africa Awards, will dazzle music lovers.

Asa's single, Fire on the Mountain, is receiving massive airplay worldwide.

The MTV Africa Awards will be televised on MTV networks across the world from November 29.
