Race in its 22nd year

It's all systems go for the Legoge Villagers-York Timber Half Marathon in White River, near Nelspruit, on Saturday from 6am.

The race, which comprises a 10km and 21,1km run, will be celebrating its 22nd anniversary. Most of the race will be run off-road, in the sand and in the forest.

Race organiser Jurgen Halbich said they expect more than 500 athletes.

Ntuthuko Maseko of Nedbank LVCC Marathon Club triumphed last year in 1hr:4min:52sec. The women's race was won by Ntokozo Dlamini (1:20:21).

Licensed athletes pay R30 and unlicensed runners R45 for the half marathon, while for the 10km race licensed athletes will pay R25 and unlicensed runners R35.

Entry forms will be available at the start of the race from 5am.
