An 86-year-old woman was found dead in her home in Edenvale, Ekurhuleni, yesterday.
Police said the woman, who was staying alone in the house, was strangled around 7pm on Sunday.
Her daughter found her body yesterday at around 7am when she came to visit her, said Captain Piet Mnyakeni.
"Her valuables and car were taken and her hands were tied with a rope."
No one has been arrested and police are investigating a case of murder. - Sapa
