The sky is the limit for drama lecturer and television actor Tsepo Mamatu.
Mamatu, pictured, a lecturer at Wits University, is the latest star to join e.tv soapie, Rhythm City. In the show, he will demonstrate what he teaches his students.
The 29-year-old actor plays Swazi, a character that promises to bring more excitement to the show.
As a repentant homosexual, Swazi is expected to bring a change to the life of Stoan Khuse, who is the main attraction at the moment.
"In the story I am supposed to help Stoan to overcome his homosexuality. Through my lies I will manage to convince him to believe that I will help. There are more twists and turns in the story," said the Soweto-born actor.
After taking a break from television acting, Mamatu is back, but he said it was not permanent. He has previously appeared in Isidingo and Yizo Yizo 3.
"I took a break because I wanted to further my studies. I am back for now. I don't want to focus on one thing, I am an artist."
Mamatu is one of the successful directors and playwrights in the industry.
He holds a BA honours degree in dramatic arts, a masters in film studies and is currently studying for a doctorate in politics, economics and leadership.
He has written plays such as Mampatile,Winnie and Stompie, 100% Zulu Boy and Haai Khona Le Acting Bizniz.
