Hlakano Dodgers made full use of their home turf when they collected four points and moved eleventh to seventh place in the Limpopo Softball Association LimDev Super League on Sunday.

The Zebediela-based side were held to an 8-all draw by Kalkspruit Red Scorpions, before beating Seshego Raiders 4-1.

In other league matches, Mahwelereng Spikes had an easy day when they walloped Ledwaba Giant Elephants 12-4 and whipped early pacesetters Seshego Raiders 7-0.

Spikes have collected 18 points from their six outings, three points ahead of defending champions Seleteng Giant Killers, who have 15 points, with a game in hand. Lebowakgomo Wildbeasts also fortified their championship ambitions when they mauled Scorpions 17-2 and thrashed Elephants 20-5.

"We are impressed by the high standard displayed by the teams and further encourage them to maintain this spirit. We also call on the supporters to rally behind their clubs in large numbers." Polelo Masola, the association's secretary-general, said yesterday.
