First, she knows pretty well that she has run a solo career on the issue since it first became a subject.

She was joined by the former despot of the apartheid regime, who staged a coup against his former colleague, later became a populist within the ANC and finally ran his own franchise.

The DA is not as committed to the arms deal issue because it knows it has its own golf course lurking in its cupboard.

But my interest is kindled by the pressure on Mbhazima Shilowa, who could easily pronounce on the monopoly status of the ruling party and its desire to share the crumbs from the tables of the magnates who sponsor them in the shadows.

De Lille should continue to put pressure on AmaBEE to come out into the open and provide an interim position on the arms deal.

Why should they shy away if they know that they have nothing to hide from empowerment deals, hefty discounts and files from those who have privileged access to them?

Maybe De Lille should ask her friend Bantu Holomisa to start the "seven files" that he put pressure with on FW de Klerk in the days of dawning democracy.

I am watching this space to see what their position is going to be.
