Free State Stars coach Themba Sithole feels that reaching the Telkom Knockout semifinals is a step in the right direction in his quest to get the team's winning form back.

Ea Lla Koto came from behind to eliminate Premiership rookies Bay United 2-1 in a quarterfinal at Charles Mopeli Stadium on Saturday.

This is the second time the Free State outfit reaches the semifinal having done so last season under departed Malawian Kinnah Phiri. They were eliminated by Mamelodi Sundowns.

Sithole attributed the victory to a positive spirit and response by the players to his tactics.

United scored first via Luntu Mazana's, who beat Kennedy Mweene with a superb near-post strike shortly after the start of the second stanza.

Stars' red-hot Saitjheni Tsotetsi levelled matters in the 74th minute with a brilliant header. Jimmy Khauleza, who was introduced in favour of Mpho Maleka before the break, netted the killer goal in the 83rd minute.
