A Roodepoort magistrate is expected to decide this morning whether to charge soccer legend Doctor Khumalo for crashing his car six months ago.
Meanwhile, the former Kaizer Chiefs and Bafana Bafana player is keeping mum about the incident and the prospect of being prosecuted.
Police spokesman Captain Lydia Mtila-Dikolomela said: "The blood tests are back but we cannot reveal what the results are. The senior prosecutor will go through the docket and make a decision on whether or not to prosecute."
Victims of the May 4 car crash have expressed anger over the slow investigation into the accident that nearly claimed their lives.
They said they did not know what was happening with investigations and wanted the law to take its course.
The 41-year-old's BMW Z4 collided with a taxi carrying three passengers - Maki Slater, Sinah Shongwe and the then eight-months pregnant Bongani Baloyi. They were on their way to work at Monte Casino in Fourways, north of Johannesburg. The taxi driver, Willy Sanyane, escaped with minor injuries.
Slater, 47, said: "The police have failed to inform us about what is happening with the case.
"We nearly died in the accident. I do not know how we survived after being flung out of the taxi when it overturned."
Slater sustained injuries to her left arm and right leg.
Slater said Khumalo hit the taxi from the behind and it overturned.
Shongwe, 44, said: "I have not heard anything from the police. I still have pains in my chest and in the left knee.
"I do not have medical aid and have to go to the clinic where they always give me pain killers. It angers me and I end up thinking that the police want to squash the case."
Baloyi said: "I want him to be arrested and prosecuted. He was the one who caused the accident and must pay for it. Just because he is a celebrity does not mean he has to walk free. He nearly killed us.
"I am just glad that my baby is fine. I have a back injury and have run out of money to consult doctors."
Khumalo was with a female companion, Lizzy Moloto, in his vehicle when the accident happened on the N1 highway between the Maraisburg and Soweto off-ramps.
She was trapped in the wreckage and the jaws of life were used to free her.
Khumalo and the passengers of the taxi were taken to Flora Clinic. Moloto was allegedly whisked away from the accident scene by Khumalo's old friend, soccer legend Philemon Masinga.
Masinga denied the allegations and said he did not know who Moloto was.
