Diners at Turffontein Racecourse got more than they had bargained for in BRD's six-bout boxing programme.

The tournament featured a female bout between Sandra Almedia and Khensani Makama in the welterweight division.

Almedia, whose corner was mastered by Manny Fernandez, blew the George Khosi-trained Makama away in one minute and 32 seconds into the first round.

But action kicked off on a bad note for Fernandez whose fighter Lebo Mboniswa was stopped in two rounds by Namibian Sakie Shikuti.

Fellow Namibian Jatoorara Tjingaveta defeated Thompson Mokwana on points over six rounds in another fight in the lightweight class. Shikuti and Tjingaveta were ushered to war by Nestor Tobias.

Welcome Ntshingila defeated Sicelo Mzobe on points over six rounds in the lightweight category while in the same weight division over the same number or rounds Jason Bederman defeated Maxwell Mpofana.

Fulufhelo Mudau won a closely contested six rounder against Kyle Bothma.
