Zuma visits storm victims

Jacob Zuma, the president of the ANC, took time off from his busy schedule yesterday to visit the victims of a storm in North West.

Hundreds of people were displaced and scores more injured when a vicious storm hit the village of Marikana near Rustenburg on Monday.

According to the North West department of housing , 350 low-cost houses and shacks were blown away and 38 people were injured.

Spokesman Lesiba Kgwele said that people who were displaced by the storm were given temporary shelter at Marikana Community Hall. - Elisha Molefe
