Lies backfire on the ANC

Again ANC president Jacob Zuma, pictured, and general secretary Gwede Mantashe stand exposed for their dishonesty because they selectively used Thabo Mbeki's letter to discredit Mbhazima Shilowa and Mosiuoa Lekota.

Again ANC president Jacob Zuma, pictured, and general secretary Gwede Mantashe stand exposed for their dishonesty because they selectively used Thabo Mbeki's letter to discredit Mbhazima Shilowa and Mosiuoa Lekota.

It has backfired on them because they did not know people would get to read the letter. Now we understand why the ANC refused to release it .

The ANC needs leaders who are honest and have integrity. By using Julius Malema and Mathews Phosa, the ANC has humiliated Mbeki for a while now.

Realising that Lekota and Shilowa intended forming a breakaway party, without consultingMbeki, Malema issued a statement on behalf of the ANC that Mbeki would campaign for the coming elections.

Zuma's visit to the US was to boost the business interests of Phosa and others, hence Mbeki speaks of the emergence of a black compradore bourgeoisie ready to front local white and international capitalists.

The question is, why did Zuma speak to the Bush administration, which will be out of office by January? Now that we know the contents of the letter, the nation knows that Malema's statement was silly and mischievous. Lies have short legs.
