Being the only team in Eastern Cape doing duty in the elite league, Bay United are determined to amass a lot of support in the province before the year ends.

The club's national supporters' coordinator, Kaizer Skweyiya said they have started drumming up support in the rural areas and next weekend they will be in East London.

"Already we have assigned a number of people at different places who are busy with groundwork, we're optimistic that we will have covered a large part of the province before the end of the year," he said.

Skweyiya said that they have received applications for membership from fans outside the Eastern Cape but that they will attend to these later.

"We're looking at the Eastern Cape as our base and we'll be going to other provinces next year," he said.

Skweyiya said they have started registering Bay United supporters in Port Elizabeth and will be moving to Duncan Village, Willovale, Amalinda, Southernhood and Hanckey later.

He revealed that they have also targeted big companies in the province, such as Volkswagen, Continental Tyres, Bridgestone and Plascon Paint as potential sponsors for the Premiership newcomers.

Skweyiya said there will be lots of benefits for those who join the club as card-carrying members, including discounts when buying the club's apparel or tickets for Bay United's home games.

He said funeral cover for card carrying members is also in the pipeline and likely to be put in place soon .
