The Letsoalo brothers, who died in a motor car accident a day before the unveiling of their grandparent's tombstones, will be laid to rest tomorrow.
Brothers Jack and Alpheus died when their vehicle overturned and landed in a donga at GaKgama near Mankweng, in Limpopo.
Three other occupants - also family - were treated for minor injuries in hospital.
The unveiling of the tombstones, which was to have taken place last Sunday, was postponed.
Mankweng police spokesman Malan Nchabeleng said a case of culpable homicide has been opened.
The deceased's brother, Phineus, said they had all travelled from Gauteng to attend the unveiling of their grandparents' tombstones.
"We spent Saturday preparing for the big day but they later said they wanted to buy some air time at a local shop.
"The family did not want them to go because it was already late and also because we needed to attend a vigil with the pastor on the eve of the unveiling as is the custom.
"Our uncle hid the car keys but they found them and drove off."
Phineus said the family later received a call from the police informing them about the tragedy.
"Instead of preparing to unveil the tombstones we are preparing for a double funeral," he said.
The brothers are survived by three children, Maisa, Tiny and Skosana and their mother.
The funeral will take place at GaMothapo and they will be buried at GaMahowa cemetery tomorrow at 7am.
