The Johannesburg International Motor Show is finally here.
Some of the vehicles to be displayed include the Mercedes-Benz ML-63 AMG and Nissan GT-R.
The show runs from tomorrow until Sunday November 9 at Nasrec, southern Joburg.
The GT-R, according to Nissan South Africa, will be available here next year.
The GT-R is a new multi-dimensional performance machine that lives up to the concept of "an ultimate supercar enjoyable to anyone, anywhere, at any time".
The 353kW twin-turbo GT-R features a newly developed Premium Midship package, including the world's first independent transaxle 4WD developed independently by Nissan.
The Nissan GT-R was developed with a new understanding of and appreciation for the earth's natural forces - gravity, inertial force and aerodynamics - and translates these forces into a completely new design, maximising mechanical grip and airflow.
Basic vehicle dynamics and integration with the driver have also been examined, resulting in new components and creating a Human-Machine Interface (HMI) never seen before in the marketplace.
All of these theories have been integrated to balance "speed and efficiency," "high output with environmental mindfulness" and "high performance and safety".
Taking these factors into account Nissan created the all-new Nissan GT-R, which offers advanced high performance for secure and enjoyable driving free of climatic, road condition or driving technique limitations.
The Nissan GT-R offers ultimate performance for virtually every driving situation - from the Nurburgring, where it was developed, to snow, rain or urban areas.
The Nissan GT-R's unique characteristics are instilled not just in the vehicle's design, but also through a specialised production process.
Carbon fibre, aluminium and steel components are assembled in a special high-precision process that includes a series of vibration tests.
Engines and transmissions are assembled in a "clean room" environment and on completion every GT-R undergoes a battery of comprehensive tests to ensure the proper operation of all vehicle components.
At the show you can look out for the legendary Chevrolet Corvette. This powerful beast boasts a 7,0-litre V8 engine producing 373kW of power capable of thrusting the car from zero to 100 kmh in less than four seconds.
Making this show car more special is that a few lucky show-goers will win the opportunity to be driven around a racetrack by a professional driving instructor.
Simply visit the Chevrolet stand in Hall Five and have your picture taken in the Corvette to enter.

Suzuki is set to dazzle visitors to the show with a full range of the brand's automotive, motorcycle, quad and marine products.
To accommodate the giant display, which will feature several South African firsts, Suzuki has taken over the entire outdoor lakeside area at the Johannesburg Expo Centre and renamed it the Suzuki Way of Life World.
For car nuts, Suzuki Auto SA will showcase several exciting products.
Show-goers will be among the first to see the new Suzuki Alto subcompact hatchback, only weeks after its world debut at the Paris Motor Show.
Featuring an eco-friendly, low-emissions design, the small but spacious Alto links striking exterior styling to brisk performance, while offering exceptional fuel economy and low CO2 emissions.
The Alto is compact and lightweight but without compromising interior space or occupant comfort. The styling is sporty and trendy.
The Alto's arrival is particularly relevant against the current backdrop of extreme financial pressure and looming global warming, which has focussed attention on the need for smaller, more energy efficient cars. It will go on sale in SA during the course of 2009.
Also showcased at the show will be the Suzuki Swift Sport - a more performance oriented version of the Swift hatchback.
