It is shocking to hear some people say that the ANC has been hijacked by the SACP and Cosatu, because the reality is that these formations have always been partners in our liberation struggle.

It is shocking to hear some people say that the ANC has been hijacked by the SACP and Cosatu, because the reality is that these formations have always been partners in our liberation struggle.

People who know our history can attest to that, so why should there be such a lot of noise today about the tripartite alliance?

The fact is that even former ANC leaders, who now badmouth the alliance, benefitted a great deal from it.

Were it not for the SACP and Cosatu the ANC could not have won the last elections with such an overwhelming majority.

It is time people accepted that the alliance will remain intact and sustainable for many years to come.

People are afraid of the unity that prevails between the ANC NEC, SACP and Cosatu and that is why they keep asking our leaders whether the economic policies will change.

Simply put, if the ANC is serious about changing the lives of the poor majority it should change those policies that negatively affect our people's wellbeing.

After all, the ANC was mandated to ensure a better life for all, so why should they hang on to policies that do not benefit the people?

The majority of our people need change and it is only the ANC that can do that.
