Genevieve Howard's Grace Mashaba character on popular soapie Generations ended last night and the actress was quick to say she has no regrets about leaving the series.
In fact, Howard, who is trained in psychology, says she is looking forward to life after Generations as she will be establishing a private body healing business and doing commercials.
But she was sad that her fans, especially school kids, will not have a chance to watch their favourite character again.
"I have been to North West recently on an SABC roadshow and the kids there just loved the character I play. They are the reason I feel sad about leaving the soapie," she said.
Generations fans last night saw Grace Mashaba on the soapie for the last time as she left for Canada.
The scriptwriters dealt with Grace's difficult exit plan by making her migrate to Canada.
This is after the fall-out between her and Paul (Siyabonga Twala), her on-screen father, who turned out not to be her real father, but her uncle.
The unlikeable Kenneth Mashaba (Sputla Sebogodi) is her real on-screen father, and Grace is, in fact, the product of an illicit liaison between Mashaba and Paul's wife.
This realisation caused a family feud, resulting in a confrontation between Kenneth and Paul over Grace, forcing the disillusioned, disappointed and angry Grace to leave for Canada.
In reality, Howard left the soapie three months ago because it is shot that many months ahead.
