Redknapp spurred on

Harry Redknapp officially started his job as Tottenham manager yesterday and believes his bottom-of-the-table team are good enough to avoid relegation.

One of his first items of business was to bring in Kevin Bond, with whom he has worked at a number of clubs as his assistant.

The former Portsmouth coach was in the dugout as Spurs beat Bolton 2-0 - their first Premier League win of the season.

"There is real quality in this group of players here," said Redknapp. "You look through and there are international players.

"You look at the quality and they shouldn't be where they are, but two points in eight games is an amazingly bad start.

"We have to start working as hard as we did today (Sunday) for each other."
