Boost for chiefs

Tinashe Nengomasha and Gerald Sibeko have returned to bolster the Kaizer Chiefs midfield as Amakhosi resume their Absa Premiership rivalry with Bloemfontein Celtic at Seisa Ramabodu Stadium tomorrow at 3.30pm.

The match is part of an all-Premiership affair that will also feature ties that should grab the attention of spectators.

While Nengomasha and Sibeko are back to reinforce the team, Muhsin Ertugral, the Chiefs coach, will miss skipper Jimmy Tau at the back. Tau is writing exams.

Chiefs' rearguard has also been weakened by the absence of Valery Nahayo after the Burundian returned injured from national duty.

Ertugral bemoaned the absence of Nengomasha in their 1-4 cup defeat at red-hot Lamontville Golden Arrows last weekend but the Turkish-born coach sounded excited yesterday when confirming the availability of the talented Zimbabwean linkman.

He was equally thrilled that Sibeko is also available for selection.

Phunya SeleSele also have problems of their own in their playing personnel going into this potential humdinger.

Ugandan defender Timothy Batabaire will miss the tie as he is still suspended and forward Petrus Mahlatse is doubtful to start. Good news for Siwelele, though, is that their strike force will not be depleted as Darrel Smith is back from injury and fit to play.

Patrick Malokase, who scored a hat trick in their 5-0 demolition of Santos in a cup meeting last weekend, should be a menace to Chiefs. The visitors should also be wary of Celtic's new kid on the block, Mark Mayambela, who could cause problems for them in the midfield.

Petros Augousti, Celtic's communications manager, said gates will open at 1pm and warned that no tickets will be sold at the stadium.

He urged people to buy tickets from their usual selling points around Bloemfontein.

Defending champions SuperSport United could prove more united than Maritzburg United in Atteridgeville in another match tomorrow.
