BEE man to testify on Kebble murder

BEE tycoon Sello Rasethaba is among witnesses lined up to testify in the Brett Kebble murder case.

BEE tycoon Sello Rasethaba is among witnesses lined up to testify in the Brett Kebble murder case.

Rasethaba, who was a business associate of the dead mining magnate, is said to have been expecting Kebble at his Houghton home on the night of his death.

Among other positions Rasethaba held at the time was as chief executive of Matodzi Resources, a subsidiary of JCI .

Kebble had resigned as chief executive of JCI and board member of Matodzi about a month before his death.

The National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) will call 50 witnesses to show that Glenn Agliotti and Kebble's partner, John Stratton, were involved in his assisted suicide, news reports said yesterday.

According to the reports the NPA had officially recognised that the mining magnate orchestrated his own murder, quoting from a witness list it had obtained.

The murder trial has been moved to the Johannesburg high court from the lower court.

Agliotti stands accused of murdering Kebble in Johannesburg in September 2005.

He was shot several times behind the steering wheel of his car.

The trial will be heard from July 27 to 30 next year. Agliotti's R500000 bail was extended.

NPA spokesman Tlali Tlali said yesterday that not all 50 witnesses would necessarily be called.

"We will assess the situation as we progress," he said.

The days set aside for the trial were only the initial dates and the case might have to continue at a later date, Tlali said. - Sapa
