Women in Limpopo are expected to speak with one voice when they take to the centre stage in the fight against crime and HIV-Aids.
The MEC for local government and housing, who is also the convener of the Progressive Women's Movement of South Africa, Maite Nkoana-Mashabane, will lead a procession of women from Mankweng to Seshego Stadium tomorrow to highlight the ravages of crime and HIV-Aids against women.
The march will start at the University of Limpopo's Turfloop campus and move through the Polokwane CBD to Seshego where more than 6 000 people will be educated against the spread of HIV and Aids, and crime.
Women in business from around the province will also have a chance to speak about their successes and encourage others to follow suit.
They will also network with other women and discuss vital issues such as fighting poverty in their homes and domestic violence.
"Women are the most vulnerable species to HIV and Aids infection, and crime," Nkoana-Mashabane said.
She said the fight against crime could also be won if communities worked closely with the police.
"It takes a community to raise a child. And it also takes the same community to fight crime.
"If we all join hands together as a community, we will win the fight against crime and the spread of HIV and Aids."
Limpopo is the third lowest province in the country in terms of HIV and Aids prevalence.
