COLLIERIES ON a SALE SPREE

Premier auctioneering firm Park Village Auctions has been appointed by Anglo Coal Shared Services to host the combined stock clearance sale of several of its major Witbank collieries.

Premier auctioneering firm Park Village Auctions has been appointed by Anglo Coal Shared Services to host the combined stock clearance sale of several of its major Witbank collieries.

The sale takes place on site at the Witbank Surrounds on October 28, from 10.30am.

Three collieries, Rapid Load out Terminal (RLT), Klein Kopje Colliery and Kromdraai Colliery will be represented and will make available a large range of mining equipment and associated apparatus.

Stock derived from RLT includes steam locomotives, a 150 tonne lattice boom crane, gearboxes, a water tank on trailer, compressor, hosing, buses and other related stock.

Klein Kopje colliery sale stock consists of Komatsu coal hauliers, excavators, a cable reeler, a variety of tractors and motors, pipes and hosing, Dozer engines, hydraulic cylinders, screens and other miscellaneous gear.

Kromdraai Colliery will provide a variety of colliery-related stock.

This is specifically a Komatsu 630 EH excluding tyres, a track dozer, a Komatsu 325 water tanker, a Komatsu 785 dump truck excluding tyres, Komatsu 630 load bodies, a Komatsu PC 650 Excavator, a Cat engine and a Sandvik coal drill.

A variety of tractors and other assorted equipment from this colliery will also go under the hammer.

The auction presents an ideal opportunity for mining interests in particular, but also for agricultural and industrial interests, to grab bargain equipment.

Bertie Sanderson, of Park Village Auctions, said: "Those looking to pick up quality mining equipment should diarise this event.

"Scrap metal merchants and junior miners will be spoilt for choice," he said.

"And the steam locomotives will represent a unique chance for antique collectors to swell their collections."

Protective clothing is an access requirement to the auction. : a hard hat, safety shoes, reflective vest, goggles and safety gloves must be worn when machinery and equipment are physically inspected.

Viewing took place on Monday, October 13 from 10am to 3pm and will be repeated on the morning of the sale from 9am to the start of the auction.
