Since Polokwane the ANC agenda has been dominated by profound confusion and a single-minded quest for power.

Since Polokwane the ANC agenda has been dominated by profound confusion and a single-minded quest for power.

Delegates at Polokwane spoke against two centres of power - but that is exactly what we ended up with. They say there will be no policy changes but this is what the left claims to have achieved.

They say dissidents such as Terror Lekota, Mbhazima Shilowa and others are not fit to be in the ANC but they were earlier lauded by the ANC for excellent leadership.

They recalled Thabo Mbeki for poor service delivery but when the DA challenged the ANC on this exact issue, we were accused of serving minority interests.

When you watch the news, listen to talk shows or read newspapers, what you get are mixed and confusing messages from ANC leaders.

People such as Gwede Mantashe, Sphiwe Nyanda, Mathews Phosa, Julius Malema, Jacob Zuma, Zwelinzima Vavi, Blade Nzimande, Jessie Duarte and others each convey a different version of the ANC's policies and agenda. Which one truly speaks on behalf of the ANC has yet to emerge.

The alliance partners, the SACP and Cosatu, speak under the pretext of the poor, but lead luxurious lives.

Instead of focusing on how to fight unemployment, crime, the skills shortage, etc, their minds are dominated by anger and immediate ascendance to higher office.
