Struggle stalwart, the late Oliver Reginald Tambo will once again be remembered through the seventh yearly Diva's Sing a Song to OR Tambo Concert.

The event starts on Friday at Boksburg Stadium. International superstars Puff Johnson of bad-boys fame and Brazilian singing sensation Tania Maria and Sally Nyolo will dazzle the crowd on Sunday. Maria and Nyolo, from Cameroon, are now based in France.

Hoisting our flag high are local stars Judith Sephuma, Siphokazi, Malaika, Lira, Rebecca Malope, Camagwini, Nhlanhla Nciza and Mahotella Queens.

The celebrations start with a free concert on Friday and each day will honour Tambo and be dedicated to women, who remain the most disadvantaged group in our society.

A memorial lecture will create awareness on the ANC hero. Tambo's life and times will be unpacked through crafts, plays and art.

Tambo, who would have turned 91 on October 27, was one of the country's greatest leaders. Born in eastern Pondoland's rural town of Bizana, he later lived in Daveyton, Benoni.

Tickets are available from Computicket and Shoprite Checkers stores.
