Kgotso Makgalema was the last contestant to be booted out of I want to Sing Gospel that airs on SABC2 on Sundays.
Makgalema, who has earned the name of Pastor, ran out of luck on Sunday, one week before the winner is announced.
The lucky contestant will win a recording contract and R100000 in cash. All contestants gave it their all on Sunday.
Makgalema, whose voice many say reminds them of the late Vuyo Mokoena, took his elimination like a real man.
"It might be the end for me in this competition, but it is also the beginning of new things," said Makgalema.
One of the best contestants in the competition was Charisma Hannekom from Cape Town. Pity she was always let down by the public.
On Sunday her home city failed to vote her into first position. Hannekom left the judges speechless, as she has done throughout the competition. Her performance sizzled.
Eastern Cape-born singer Mzoxolo Rafani surprised many by making it to the finals. Had the contestants been judged on the public's votes alone he would definitely have won. He had great support from his province.
But, of course, the judges will make the final decision.
Lungisani Ntuli, who comes from Nanda in Durban, has shown that he has what it takes. After he was kicked out of the competition two weeks ago Ntuli came back with a bang.
On Sunday, knowing that his future was hanging in the balance, he sang with great passion.
