The "delaying tactics" employed by Limpopo premier Sello Moloto to stall the reshuffling his cabinet seem to be working in his favour.

Both the provincial leadership of the ANC and its youth wing, who were very vocal in calling for his "dismissal", have suddenly become silent.

The ANC and Youth League had been pushing Moloto to reshuffle his cabinet to make way for new ANC provincial chairman Cassel Mathale. They want Mathale included in the provincial cabinet as an MEC.

At the centre of the row are allegations that both the ANC and ANCYL have identified roads and transport MEC Justice Piitso as the one who should make way for Mathale.

Moloto allegedly told the ANC provincial leadership that if Piitso were to leave he would resign as premier.

Moloto, who has just returned from a two-week trip to China, told Sowetan yesterday that he would only reshuffle his cabinet if and when he deems it necessary.

He said if the provincial leadership of the ANC and its youth structure were to force him to make the reshuffle they would have to "give convincing reasons".
