Most of the swimmers from Soweto Aquatics, Swimming South Africa's team of the year, had a good showing at the gala attended by more than 300 swimmers.
Cathy Doyle, president of CGA, said she was impressed by the commitment displayed by the participants.
"The competition was well attended and most of the new swimmers will have to work hard in order to achieve the qualifying standard time.
