Limpopo Province Netball Association will arm its coaches and umpires with knowledge of the sport through a three-day workshop to be held in Bela Bela this weekend.

The workshop, which starts on Friday, will involve more than 40 teachers in Waterberg district and is a joint venture of LPNA and the provincial department of sports, arts and culture.

This will be the second workshop to follow the one held in Tzaneen, Mopani district, last month.

"We have resolved to conduct these workshops with the aim of developing netball in the province. It is through workshops of this nature wherein we will be able to unearth future coaches and umpires who will in turn assist towards the development of netball from the grassroot level," Monicca Setumu, LPNA's provincial president told Sowetan yesterday.

"We anticipate an active three days based on the superb participation displayed by delegates during the Mopani district workshop last month. We are calling on the delegates to be punctual."

The next workshop will be held in Capricorn district later this month.
