The hearing involving fighter Edward "Spoiler" Mpofu and trainer Eugene Khanyile, which was scheduled for Monday and yesterday in East London, has been rescheduled until November 10 and 11.

Boxing SA's director of operations Loyiso Mtya said nothing could be done because Mpofu and Khanyile were seven hours late on Monday.

"We only did the preliminaries today [yesterday], eliminating certain points. It was then agreed that the case be set for November 10 and 11," he said.

Mpofu and Khanyile can continue with their jobs of fighting and manning the corners of other fighters. They are are not suspended.

They are alleged to have used plaster of Paris on Mpofu's hands during his six rounder with Thanduxolo Dyani at Orient Theatre in East London on September 29.

Mpofu lost that lightweight fight. The unlawful bandaging was allegedly discovered by Dyani's manager, promoter Mzimase Mnguni, when he shook Mpofu's hands after the fight.
