No dignity

Funeral undertakers provide an important service to bereaved families, who expect respect and want their loved ones to be buried with dignity.

Funeral undertakers provide an important service to bereaved families, who expect respect and want their loved ones to be buried with dignity.

The refusal by The Rose Funeral Undertakers to bury Alfred Lebakeng of Tshiawelo, Soweto, until his family had paid R4000, the undertakers said they owed them, brought more pain to the family.

The Rose Funeral Undertakers could have resolved this matter amicably, especially since Lebakeng's brother, who has been a member of the funeral scheme since 1998, was up to date with his premiums.

Refusing to bury a client simply because of a misunderstanding over an extra amount to be paid is not a good business decision.
