The ANC in uKhahlamba in the KwaZulu-Natal Midlands has called on the independent electoral commission and the police to monitor all its election and voter registration activities in the Imbabazane municipality.

ANC regional spokesman Thami Mazibuko told IEC officials that it's candidate in next month's by-election was locked up in a community hall, allegedly by IFP supporters on Saturday. The claim has been rejected by the IEC who said "no one was locked up". - Canaan Mdletshe
