Mulalo Sivhidzho vomited all over the place upon finding out that she was a suspect in her husband's murder.

Investigating officer Inspector Braam Joubert told the Johannesburg high court that when they told Sivhidzho that her now co-accused Ntambudzeni Matsenene had implicated her in the murder, she started vomiting non-stop.

"We had to postpone our interview with her to the following day, and drove her back home that night," said Joubert.

Sivhidzho was arrested three weeks after her husband Avhatakali Netshisaulu, the son of former City Press editor-in-chief Mathatha Tsedu, was found burnt to death inside the boot of his car.

She allegedly conspired with Matsenene in hiring an alleged hitman and co-accused Arnold Sello, and about six other men to murder her late husband.

Joubert said on the night after Netshisaulu was killed, he and two colleagues went to Sivhidzho's house to take a statement from her. "We found her in one of the bedrooms with her mother-in-law. She was lying on the bed, busy flipping her legs in the air," he said.

"She stopped us in the middle of the interview when she noticed a clip of her being interviewed by reporters was being played on the news on TV. She was quite impressed with seeing herself on TV," said Joubert.

He went on to say that when they asked Sivhidzho who she suspected was behind her husband's murder, she said she suspected Matsenene because he had an appointment with him that night.

Matsenene was arrested three days after Netshisaulu was killed. Sello was the second to be arrested after police received a tip-off from an informer.

Although an arrest warrant for Sivhidzho was issued a week after the killing, police waited until after the funeral before they arrested her.

The trial continues tomorrow.
