Better sales

Factory sales totalled R121billion in August, 21,5percent higher than August last year. This growth was due to inflation because by volume, Stats SA's manufacturing production index only rose 0,4 points year-on-year. Manufacturing output contracted 0,2percent during the three months ended August from the previous quarter.
