It remains uncertain when the buses now owned by the eThekwini municipality will resume operations as the strike by drivers continues.
Negotiations did not take place yesterday as the unions and the bus company, Remant Alton, were still deadlocked despite the intervention by the CCMA.
Drivers refused to accept a draft agreement that the unions and the employer reached on Thursday.
The workers rejected the draft agreement, which stated that the no work, no pay rule would apply to the striking drivers.
The agreement also stipulated that pay deductions would be done in installments over three months.
The draft agreement also stated that disciplinary hearings would be held if there were employees who claimed that they had been intimidated in any way to join the strike.
The drivers have since rejected the agreement, saying that they want to be employed by the municipality and want nothing to do with Remant Alton.
Mlondi Memela of the Transport and Allied Workers Union of SA yesterday confirmed that their members rejected the agreement.
"Negotiations have not taken place since the members rejected the agreement," he said.
The drivers downed tools two weeks ago after the municipality took over the ownership of the buses, leaving the drivers in the employ of Remant Alton, the previous owners.
On Friday 19 buses worth R35 million were burnt at Remant Alton's depot in Ntuzuma.
