Who are the real hypocrites?

Reports abound that a majority of South Africans are disgruntled with the ANC's decision to recall Thabo Mbeki.

Reports abound that a majority of South Africans are disgruntled with the ANC's decision to recall Thabo Mbeki.

A survey conducted shows the DA is running neck and neck with the ANC among urban voters. Some reports even suggest the ANC is being ditched by the voters. Only the ballot box can settle this question.

However, it is the ANC members who lost out during the Polokwane contests that really annoy me, with their reckless public statements. They lend credibility to reports of a new party.

Although Smuts Ngonyama, Essop Pahad, Mluleki George and others protested their involvement during recent interviews, they did not emphatically rule out the possibility. If the new party is formed, such conduct is ill-discipline personified. The question then becomes who are the hypocrites, Jacob Zuma and his supporters or Mbeki loyalists? When Zuma was released as deputy president in 2005, he was bitter and so are the citizens who supported his cause until Polokwane. He could have abused the support and tried to break from the ANC. However, he went back to the party and worked to change his plight from within the party. Is that too much to ask from the Mbeki loyalists?
