Dynamos mentor Lefa "Mhlekazi" Gqosha says the cracks in the defence that were exposed during in his team's recent matches have been mended and the Limpopo side is ready to challenge for promotion.

The Dynamites, who failed to explode in all their opening three matches of the National First Division (NFD) Inland Stream, conceded six goals and scored three.

They were defeated by Winners Park, Pretoria University and FC AK.

Gqosha conceded that the loss of concentration by his defence has caused them the nine points.

"I must admit that during the opening two matches we were not that much impressive, we only regrouped in our last match against FC AK, wherein we scored twice. I am confident that after a two weeks recess, we will be in good shape as already shown during the past two days," Gqosha told Sowetan yesterday.

"It is good to lose the opening matches than the closing matches as by that time everyone will be gearing up for promotion. We will do all that is possible to ensure that we turn the tables against Mpumalanga Black Aces on October 18 to revive our promotion ambitions," he said.

Pat Malabela's lads are still searching for their first point and victory of the season.

Meanwhile, Durban Stars, the Coastal Stream's basement club, have vowed to move out of the dreaded relegation zone.

"We anticipated a bad start after we resolved to start a new team during the off season.

"There is no crisis at the club, we are focusing much on development, while on the other hand we are gradually finding a winning combination," Phindani Nene, Stars' chairman, said yesterday.
