Ekurhuleni probes water outages

Ekurhuleni municipality's engineers are probing recent water outages in Bedfordview.

Ekurhuleni municipality's engineers are probing recent water outages in Bedfordview.

The municipality's spokesman, Zweli Dlamini, said yesterday that there appeared to have been no water supply along Grobler Street and Riley Road between 8am and 5pm for the past week.,

"The municipality is trying to establish the cause of the problem in an effort to normalise the situation. We were unaware of this problem until it was brought to our attention at the weekend. This is a priority for us and we are doing all we can to sort the problem out," he said.

Dlamini said there had also been water shortages on Ferguson and Alwyn streets and Ogden Road, in Bedfordview, and in parts of Essexwold. However, this was the result of reticulation problems.

These problems had been resolved, Dlamini said. - Sapa
