Coronation Park Dam in Mogale City was temporarily transformed into a beach on Saturday.

Hosting this year's popular Soweto beach party, now expanded and renamed Gauteng beach party, mini-skirted and bikini-clad women enjoyed a sunny day at the park as they revelled in performances by the country's leading musicians and DJs.

Although there were fears earlier in the day that the party was not going to live up to expectations because of the small number of partygoers, from 6pm hordes of people arrived and it was time to rock.

Most partygoers took the theme to extra heights as they came in beach gear to impress. Two years ago, Zanele Majola caused such a stir because of her big breasts. This time around there were two or three Majolas.

Entertainment galore drove people to the dance floor, dancing on the artificial beach covered with sand.

The increasingly visible Soweto Bikers Club brought the party to a standstill when they arrived in style, riding their bikes into the venue.

Ntando, DJ Fresh, DJ Oskido, DJ Vetkuk versus Mahoota, Brown Dash and others brought the house down with their music.

The Gauteng beach party was a memorable event that spiced up Krugersdorp in Mogale City.
