Amajita registered a crucial 1-1 draw against Botswana's Under-20s in Gaborone on Saturday, despite being without four influential players.

Mandla Masango (Kaizer Chiefs), Sameegh Doutie and Thulani Serero (Ajax Cape Town) were refused permission by their clubs to join Amajita.

The clubs made it clear that they would not release the players because the African Youth Championships first leg qualifier was not played on a Fifa-recognised date.

The fourth player, Kamohelo Mokotjo, was in Holland for trials. This despite SuperSport United assuring Amajita coach Serame Letsoaka that he would be back for the game.

While Masango and Doutie featured in Saturday's clash between Chiefs and Ajax, Serero was not even in the final 18 players selected for the same game.

Despite these problems Letsoaka was happy with the result. He said Amajita could have won the match comfortably if all the clubs had cooperated.

Orlando Pirates development's exciting youngster Mduduzi Nyanda scored the all important game for the South Africans.

Botswana are coached by Boyo Radipotsane, who before the game was confident that Amajita had reached the end of the road.
