The Safa Metropolitan National League action moves to Ikageng Stadium in Potchefstroom on Sunday.

After the fourth season kick-off of this developmental league in Kuruman, Northern Cape, on August 16, this weekend sees the Local Football Association league battle give aspiring footballers from this region a platform to showcase their skills and hopefully catch the eye of the junior national team selectors.

"It is our duty as Metropolitan that we uplift the Potchefstroom region, and what better way than by creating opportunities for them through football," said Mandla Mvelase, general manager of group marketing at Metropolitan.

"It also gives the community the perfect stage to measure their readiness to host the World Cup in 2010," Mvelase said.

Balebetse Monnakgotla, Safa competitions director, said the league also helped Amajita to identify new talent to beef-up the team.

Players who do well in Potchefstroom will increase their chances of being selected for the Under-19 All Stars, and will be taken into development camp for a possible inclusion in the national Under-20 side.

Amajita coach Serame Letsoaka has been attending some of these games.

The Sunday fixtures are:

SPH Khune Stars v Norway;

Gunners FC v Ikageng United;

Oarkney Arsenal v Orkney Young Zebras;

Home Sweepers v Stars of Hope;

A.C Milan v Hungry Lions Super; Sport United v Potch Defence;

Lebaleng Young Tigers v Dodgers; Kanana Liverpool v Digagabi.
