Former Cuban president Fidel Castro will be awarded the prestigious Ubuntu Award at the Mapungubwe Heritage Site in Musina, Limpopo, tomorrow.

The ubuntu campaign is a national drive to revive and promote the values of ubuntu in nation building, social cohesion and national pride.

Castro will be the third person to be honoured with the award after former South African president Nelson Mandela and former Zambian president Kenneth Kaunda.

The Cuban ambassador to South Africa will receive the award on Castro's behalf.

Warrior kings of Limpopo will celebrate the diverse heritage in song and dance, starting with the unveiling of the ubuntu memorial honouring six kings - Makhado, Maleboho, Makgoba, Sekhukhune, Ngungunyane and Mokopane.
